When I was in grade 3 our teacher used to read a chapter each day from this book, we had to switch books half way through it because at least one kid got too frightened. 1. I've neither read nor seen The Witches, but as a young child I did read The BFG and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and later Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator.
